Easter Island is
a Polynesian island in the Pacific Ocean. It is a special territory
of Chile and is renowned for its monumental statues, called moai,
created by the Rapanui people. Easter Island is a World Heritage
Site and much of the island protected within the Rapa Nui National
Park.
Easter Island is one of the world's most isolated
inhabited islands - travelling to Easter Island can be troublesome
but it is well worth the journey! The island has a subtropical
climate and a rich and colourful history.
