Kumuka
Worldwide are proud to announce that we have been voted as one of the
best Travel and Tourism companies to work for in Australia. As judged
by the Great Place to Work Institute Australia.
Forward thinking trickles down from the head of Kumuka
where a flexible work ethic has been adopted to promote both work /life
balance for our staff and productivity for the company. This has been
one of the key assets mhich make our company such a great place to work.
Having adopted technology to render the traditional office environment almost obsolete, most of our staff members work either full time from a home office or combine the traditional and remote environment.
Some examples:
|
Meet Helen Dwyer, Head of Operations living
in Rankin Springs NSW. Rankin Springs is a remote rural location
in the outback of Australia. After traversing the world for 15
years Helen met and married an Australian farmer which took her
and her wealth of knowledge to this locale. However, just
because she was to live in the "back of beyond" didn't
mean she could not use her skills, we soon set her up on virtual
private network, armed her with online phone technology and soon
she was orchestrating tours all over the world whilst watching
the crops grow out her window.

Meet Himanshi Munshaw, Travel Consultant, living
in Melbourne. "Himu" comes from an Indian family. When
she decided to get married and move back to India for 3 months
to fulfill family commitments, it was no issue for her to take
her 'desk' with her. A simple configuration on her computer and
access to the internet and soon Himu was offering advice to travellers
and processing bookings whilst soaking up family life in India.

Meet Nicole Fraser, Travel Consultant, originally
based in Melbourne, now based in Dubai. Nicole has a young family
and originally applied for the position with Kumuka to allow her
to look after her young ones whilst keeping her finger in the
industry, working out of hours from home, to suit her babysitting
needs. When her husband got a full time job in Dubai it was no
problem for her to move her 'office' to Dubai and continue to
work with Kumuka.

These are just some examples of many stories we have around the globe
of staff working to suit their needs. From Kumuka’s perspective
we recognise talent and do what we can to maintain a flexible working
environment to improve lifestyle, happiness and in turn improve production
for the company. We judge an employee’s productivity by output,
not by the number of hours staring at a computer in an office being
‘seen’ to be working. It is a win/win situation.
Kumuka is a place where everyone’s opinion matters, if it wasn’t
for our staff we wouldn’t be where we are today, we work with
an open door philosophy and preserve the atmosphere of a small, close-knit
company even as we grow.
