Surprisingly overlooked
as an adventure travel destination, the United States actually has some
of the most striking natural features and landscapes on the planet.
This is particularly true of the western half of the country. From the
sand dunes of the Pacific, across the Nevada and Arizona deserts, through
the jaw dropping intensity of the Grand Canyon, to the majestic Rocky
Mountains and the enchanting National Parks within them, you would think
it couldn't get any better, but it does. There is also a unique culture,
both present and historic, that is far different from other western
countries, and some of the friendliest people you are likely to meet.

Yellowstone National Park was the first established national
park in the world, in 1872. Home to a startling array of geothermal
features (more than the rest of the world combined), rugged landscapes
and a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, buffalo and
elk, the park has captured the imagination of hikers, artists, and nature-lovers.
