Introduction: This tour leads you from Rome to Athens via the beautiful Amalfi coast and the fascinating buried city of Pompeii, before a relaxing cruise takes you to some of the beautiful Greek Islands. Four days of cruising allows you time to enjoy both onboard cruise life and exquisite island destinations. You sail to the island of Mykonos, with its scenic windmills and white washed houses, and its vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Then on to Turkey’s resort town of Kusadasi where you can shop at the colourful bazaar or maybe take a visit to the breathtaking ancient ruins of Ephesus. Next stop Patmos where St John wrote the Apocalypse, before you experience the beauty of Rhodes. The island of Rhodes is full of stunning beaches with crystal clear waters, and a medieval city centre which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the Venetian city of Heraklion in Crete and perhaps join an optional tour to the famous archaeological site of Knossos to see the extraordinary remains of the Minoan civilisation. Finally to the island of Santorini, where you can enjoy the stunning sunset and the magnificent view over the Aegean, before returning to Athens and a tour of this historic city including a visit to the Acropolis.
