Michelle Cheang says:

I participated in the Flavours of Thailand and I have to say I had an absolute blast! I felt the tour provided genuine value for money, and the itinerary achieved the perfect balance between covering the must-sees and providing sufficient downtime for some R-&-R. The quality of accommodation provided also left me pleasantly surprised (after hearing some horror stories from acquaintances who had participated in tours with other companies). The tour was just the beginning - I am now in love with Thailand and cannot wait to return! I would also like to commend you on your choice of tour guide (Sosark or 'Sarky') he really made the trip for us! His professionalism, knowledge and experience are without doubt, but it was his genuine warmth that made me feel as though I was travelling with a family friend and not a tour guide. Sarky was patient, flexible and ever-responsive to our requests. I found his willingness to listen and to take on board our feedback a wonderful trait. The morning where Sarky took us on a bike ride to offer food to the monks was for me, one of the most memorable and spiritual moments of the entire tour. In conclusion, I would like to commend your company on providing such an enjoyable, fantastic and value-for-money tour. I would recommend Kumuka unreservedly to family and friends, and I look forward to touring with your company again.

Introduction: This tour not only introduces you to some of the highlights of northern Thailand, but also gives you an insight into the flavours of Thailand with cooking classes, market visits and opportunities to sample the local ingredients and cuisine. Lemon grass, chillies, coconut milk and lime all add to the subtle flavours of Thai foods. In the vibrant capital of Bangkok we visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, explore the local food markets, and tour the Floating Markets with our first cooking lesson in a country style Thai house. In Kanchanaburi we see the famous Bridge and Hell Fire Pass, and learn more culinary skills with our Baan Nongkhao host family. We explore Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam and then view the majestic city at night from the decks of a converted rice barge. On to Chiang Mai, renowned for its Lanna cuisine, and then further north still to the hill tribes where we overnight in a Lahu village, ride an elephant, and take a short trek amongst the tribal villages. Finally we explore the Golden Triangle before ending our culinary experience in Chiang Rai, in the most northern province of Thailand.
