The ATOL is a statutory scheme - that is, a scheme based on a legal requirement for licensing, and it is managed by the Consumer Protection Group section of the UK Civil Aviation Authority. This licence, together with the associated bonding, is renewed annually and tour operators are required to go through a rigorous inspection before it is renewed. It was first introduced in 1972 and gives comprehensive consumer protection to 28 million people in the UK.

Kumuka is a fully bonded member of the Travel Compensation Fund (TCF) and as such provides the assurance of complete financial protection.

In Canada

Kumuka Worldwide Inc is registered with the Ontario Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO). TICO is an organization mandated by the Ontario Government to administer the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and an industry financed travel compensation fund.
