There are plenty of easy, short hikes suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. Away from the spectacular scenery, learn of ancient cultures at Mesa Verde with its archaeological cliff dwellings, and meet the local Navajo Indians at Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Experience the Wild West in historic Durango and climb aboard the famous Durango-Silverton steam powered railroad. There is also free time to try white water rafting down the Colorado River, go trail riding 'wild-west style', or take a boat out on the gorgeous Lake Powell.
