| Antarctica update: Our local operator has confirmed that the Ushuaia ship will not be operating for the 18.12.08 departure. They are currently working to secure spaces for Kumuka clients on the 18.12.08 departure with alternative cruise operators. The 28.12.08 departure is a charter so there are no Kumuka clients booked although our operator hopes that the vessel with be operational again by this time. |
| Antarctica update: Our local operator has confirmed that clients who were onboard the Ushuaia ship are being flown back to Ushuaia town today, 06.12.08. Accommodation has been arranged for these clients in Ushuaia from 06-08 December. |

| Antarctica update: Passengers on the Ushuaia, including 3 Kumuka clients, have been transferred to a Chilean Navy vessel with an estimated arrival time in Base Frei at approximately 21.30 local time on 05.12.08. From there passengers will be flown to Ushuaia. Our local operator is currently working to secure spaces for Kumuka clients on the 08.12.08 departure with alternative cruise operators. We are in regular contact with our local operator will continue to update our website and our clients with further information as soon as this becomes available. |
| Antarctica Incident involving the vessel USHUAIA : The vessel which we use for our Antarctica trips, the Ushuaia, ran aground in Antarctica 04.12.08. Please note that no passengers or crew have been injured, nor is there considered to be any threat to anyone's life. There are currently 3 Kumuka clients onboard the Ushuaia. The Chilean navy is standing by to evacuate passengers as a precautionary measure. We expect that passengers will be evacuated from the Ushuaia on Friday 05.12.08, transported to King George Island by the Chilean navy and flown out from there. We will be liasing with our ground handler for these Antarctica voyages in order to monitor the situation with the Kumuka clients currently onboard, as well as the situation for clients booked on trips scheduled to depart during December. | Yellow Fever, Latin America:
Due to several localised outbreaks of Yellow Fever throughout South America, the regulations for Yellow Fever vaccinations have recently changed for various countries throughout South and Central America. We strongly recommend that you consult your GP or a specialised travel clinic at least 2 months prior to departure. It would also be prudent to consult your GP or Travel Clinic again just prior to your departure as Yellow Fever vaccination requirements for individual countries continue to be updated frequently.

| Inca Trail and passport updates: Kumuka apply for your Inca Trail permit with the passport details that you supply us with. New Inca Trail regulations mean that if you subsequently re-new your passport, you must either carry your oiginal passport on the trail with you OR provide Kumuka with scans of both your old AND new passport at least 2 weeks prior to your trail departure date for which a fee of USD10 will be payable locally. |
