I did the 4-week tour of the Middle East from Egypt to Amman (including Syria), and can't thank the Kumuka group leader Scott Robertson, and driver Johan, for their amazing efforts in making this the coolest travel experience I've ever had! I've done a lot of independent travel throughout Asia and Europe, but decided on a tour for the Middle East. Being apprehensive about a tour, I can look back on these past 4 weeks as being amazing! Thanks so much Scott and Johan - the optional activities were amazing, and Scott's efforts with the cooking were fantastic - I've never been welcomed nor catered to as a vegetarian so well before - thank you! I will definitely recommend Kumuka to my friends :)

I wanted to travel in the Middle East on a tour - I booked this whilst backpacking throughout Europe. As such, I emailed quite a few different tour companies. Whilst the departure date and price were a major reason I chose Kumuka, e-mailing a Kumuka representative in Australia, Jane Harris, was another major reason I chose Kumuka (and am very glad that I did). Jane Harris replied to my queries immedietely, and was extremely lovely and knowledgable about not only the tour, but the Middle East in general - thanks Jane!
SYRIA! AMaaaazing! After backpacking Europe for over 9 months, I decided to venture out to the Middle East. Not having been to this region before, and being a litte wary, I decided on a tour. I was very apprehensive about doing a tour for 4 weeks, but ended up booking on the Middle East Revealed from Egypt to Amman, including Syria. I am extremely glad that I did! I had the most amazing month - everything was absolutely fantastic!! From camping in the White and Black deserts in Egypt, to becoming addicted to diving in the Red Sea, to eating the best food I've tasted in my life in Syria - then there are the Ancient sites that you visit! Out tour leader Scott, and driver Johan, were incredible! They were the easiest guys to chat to, and were extremely professional and organised, whilst at the same time it felt like I was travelling with friends. Johan's incredible knowledge of not only the Middle East but of the whole world left me speachless at time, whilst Scott's enthusiasm, even at 5am in the morning after 5 hours sleep, never wavered. Also, being an extremely picky eater (very strict vegetarian/nearly vegan), Scott made sure that I always had somethign delicious to eat - be it his amazing banana pancakes or porridge in the desert, to camping in a Bedouin tent. The guys also looked after us all when we one by one succumbed to unhappy tummies (even when they weren't feeling awesome themselves). I can't rate Kumuka higher and cannot think of how I could've had a better time. Thanks Kumuka, and in particular, thanks Scott and Johan for being your awesome selves :) :) :)
