Introduction: Our Annapurna Trail is a short classic tea-house trek through the stunning and truly majestic Annapurna region of the Himalayas. ‘Annapurna’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘Goddess of the Harvests’ and the area of and around the massif allows for both high altitude climbs as well as moderate elevation trekking through fertile valleys. Our tour starts and ends in the bustling capital of Kathmandu, where we explore the famous sights of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Swayambunath and Patan. We then head to Pokhara with its picturesque lakeside setting, and where the beautiful Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) Mountain dominates the skyline. The trail takes us from Naya Pul to the prosperous town of Bhirethanti on the Modi Khosi, to the Magar Village of Ulleri and on to Ghorepani. From Ghorepani we ascend Poon Hill for sunrise, and spectacular panoramic views over the Annapurnas. We trek through pine and rhododendron forests to Tadapani and continue our descent to Ghaundrung. The Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal is a land steeped in history, with a fascinating culture, and stunning mountain scenery.
