Kumuka is about giving you
local insights as well as adventure, so, where we think
you will get more out of your holiday by using different means
of transport, that is what we do. The use of a variety of private
transport is an integral part of our Middle East tours and enhances
the experience!

Accommodation
On small group tours, accommodation is mainly
hotel-based, on twin share, same-gender basis. Rooms are normally
en-suite and we tend to use smaller, family-run type hotels, although
there may be the occasional desert camp or the odd overnight train.

Transport
Minibus
We use minibuses rather than local buses. These small light vehicles
are more manoeuvrable and flexible enabling us to take you to
more remote, less visited areas. The minibuses are usually air-conditioned
unless we are travelling in cooler areas or at altitude.
Overnight Train
We use overnight sleeper trains from Cairo to Aswan in Egypt.
The trains generally have air-conditioned carriages and we book
twin-bed carriages with dinner and breakfast served onboard..
Ferry
A ferry is used to cross the Red Sea from Hurgada to
Sharm El Sheikh, and we use a 5 Star cruise boat from Aswan to
Luxor along the River Nile.

Luggage
We recommend that you take a backpack
or a comfortable hold-all, as well as a day pack for essentials.
Remember that you will be responsible for carrying this, as well
as loading it onto the roof of a bus or perhaps walking a few
blocks through town with it. So be sure that your are comfortable
with the weight and size.
